Being a single parent there is only one person who is making this decision…you and you alone. If you make the right decision you can beam with delight. If you make the wrong decision you want to kick yourself a million times over.
Do you have difficulty making decisions on your own? It is always nice to have someone there who can point things out to you that you might not see yourself before you make your final decision on whatever you may encounter. Also, if the choice ends up being a good choice you can rejoice with someone. A bad choice, however, sometimes ends up making one of you the fall guy.
If you hate making decisions on your own enlist the help of a trusted friend or family member. If it is a family decision and nothing earth shattering ask your children’s opinions or take a vote. Explain the pros and cons to them first though.
Although I hate making decisions on my own I have not taken my own advice and asked for outside help. I have at times, however, made a decision with the help of my child.
Being single we have to live with the choices that we make alone. It is not an easy thing to do especially when you know in your heart that you have chosen wrong. You cannot turn back the hands of time, but must instead accept your bad choices, learn from your mistakes, put it behind you and move on.
Trust your first instincts, as they are usually correct. If you mess up, accept that fact that you are only human and that this will not be the only time in your life that you have chosen incorrectly. It will most likely happen again. Do not kick yourself in the behind, as it will not serve you any purpose, but to drag you under. Keep your chin up and forge ahead. Better days are coming.
