Scratch that… what I think she said was that she’s in a lose-lose situation.
In her mind she probably is. Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife made the remark while promoting her new reality show on E! (which her pal Ryan Seacrest is producing).
The show made headlines before the first scenes were even shot thanks to her warring ex. Sheen didn’t want the couple’s young daughters Sam, 4, and Lola, 2, to appear on the show and took Richards to court to stop it from happening. A judge eventually gave Richards the go ahead to feature the girls on her series and Sheen has been seething ever since (he called for his fans to boycott the reality show shortly after the judge announced his decision).
Which brings us to Richards’ no-win situation:
According to Richards, when it comes to deciding whether or not to put her kids on TV she will be judged either way. On one hand the actress says if she keeps the cameras off her kids people will say, “Well, she’s really not a hands-on mom.” In contrast if she allows the girls to appear on the show “people are saying that I’m exploiting them. And I think there’s plenty of reality shows with families, where you don’t watch them — at least I never did — and think they really exploited their kids.”
Regardless, the show will go on as planned and will focus on Richards life as a single, working mom in Hollywood. The mother of two, who survived an ugly divorce that was fodder for tabloids the world over, says her show is going to be “as real as it gets.” Meaning viewers will get an eyeful watching Richards re-enter the world of dating and seeing how she is dealing with the recent death of her mother.
“And just recently my dad moved into my house, so it’s balancing two daughters, a career, all of that,” Richards added.
So not only is the former model including her daughters in her TV show, her dad, her dates and anyone else she comes in contact with is fair game as well.
