Desperate for “Housewives”

Fans of ABC’s hit show “Desperate Housewives” will have to wait a couple more months before the truth behind the whole flash-forward plot twist is revealed. (Eva Longoria is still sunning herself on a yacht in the waters off of Italy right now.) However, I was able to dig up some info on the new season that might help tide you over.

Let that be a spoiler alert for you diehard fans who don’t want to know what next season has in store for the ladies of Wisteria Lane.

Revelation #1—-Mike Lives

Actor James Denton recently revealed to reporters that his “Desperate Housewives” character Mike Delfino is still part of the hit TV show despite last season’s reveal that he split from his on-screen wife, Susan Mayer (played by Terri Hatcher).

Denton said: “Mike and Susan have definitely split up” yet his character didn’t get axed even though the two are no longer together.

“(But) I’m not sure exactly in what capacity (I will return),” Denton told reporters. “(Series creator) Marc Cherry is being a little cagey. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens. But I will certainly be on the show. It’s a relief to me, trust me.”

Denton revealed that he was on the verge of quitting show business to start a more stable job as a physical education teacher when he landed his gig on “Desperate Housewives.”

Revelation #2—New Neighbor

Marcia Cross’ character will supposedly still be livid with her husband-stealing neighbor Edie Brit (played by Nicolette Sheridan) when the show returns this fall. But Edie will have her hands full with a new character to care much what Cross’ character Bree thinks of her.

Show producers confirm that actor Neal McDonough will play a new white-collar resident who will cross romantic paths with Edie. McDonough is reportedly one of “several” new additions to the cast of “Desperate Housewives,” following the hiring of Gale Harold, who will reportedly have a re-occurring part as Ken, the mysterious man who was seen kissing Susan in the final flash-forward scene last season.

What do you make of the new plot twists?
