Morning Weight: 180.8
Hello friends,
It’s been two weeks since I started this journal. And what an eye opening experience it’s been. I’ve lost five pounds and now realize the areas I need to improve. Up until now, I’ve let you in my dirty little secret—my food journal. However, I realized that, although most people realize that my food “plan” is for me only, there may be people who think they should try to duplicate what I’m eating (when I’m losing weight, that is) in order to have success themselves. Because of this, I’m going to nix the journal. I’ll give an overview each day, but won’t go into too much detail. Besides, it’s the experience that matters, right? It’s the journey of losing weight, of transitioning my life, of changing my thought patterns and mealtime behaviors—that’s what matters. If you’d like to know the details of my day food wise, let me know on the forums, okay?
So to tell you about today—let’s see—my parents left–my daughter came down sick this morning–my son complained of dizziness and nausea–my husband said his throat and head are aching–and my stomach feels unusually queasy. Combine that with the fact that I had a few deadlines to meet, clothes to wash, etc. etc. and there is only one phrase to describe this day: CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!!
These are the days I dive into leftovers. These are the days I eat too many carbohydrates. These are the days I do more than throw caution to the wind, because these are the days I find I don’t have the time or the will to care.
The lesson to be learned from this is simple—keep your fridge stocked. I fell into a bad pattern the past few days because I’ve yet to go to the store for the week. We do have food, but the produce is all but depleted. That’s a bad scenario when you’re trying to lose weight.
Hope your day went well. If not, perhaps you’ll join me on the “start over AGAIN” train tomorrow.
