When you are expecting a child, people may ask you all kinds of strange questions. It is almost as if your growing mid section sends a message to the general public that they can just come on up and ask you whatever they want to know. One question that I got asked a lot during my second pregnancy was whether I thought that I could possibly love another child as much as I love my first born son. Whenever I was asked that question, my reply was that of course I could – why else would we be having another child if there were any doubt about that.
I am happy to report that my answer, which was just speculation at the time that it was given, is completely true. It is possible to love subsequent children as much as your first born child. As soon as Blake was born, I held him in my arms and fell head over heels in love with him. I really have to wonder whether the people who had asked me about this topic had any children, and if they did whether they had more than one. Probably not, because a mother’s love for her child is an intense feeling whether they are her first born or not.
I’m really not sure why it is that people ask strange questions like that, but they do. If this is your first pregnancy, you are probably quite shocked at some of the things that people are asking you these days. If this is a second, third, or other subsequent pregnancy you may be accustomed to being asked questions but people can still surprise you with the strange, silly, and sometimes downright inappropriate questions that they ask. Feel free to answer the weird questions any way that you would like – after all, you are pregnant. If anyone gets offended, you can simply blame it on the hormones.
What is the strangest question that you have been asked while pregnant?
