Diets come in just as many different shapes and sizes as dieters do. There are several different types of dieting styles available to those looking to lose weight. The trick is finding out enough to know which one is right for you. Today I’ll touch on several different styles of weight loss programs that are available.
Online Weight Loss
You’ve all see the ads for weight loss programs that you participate in online. These programs are very convenient for those of us who are attached to a computer all day and they are also very private. There are no meetings to drive to and no weekly weigh-ins with everyone else on the program knowing how much you didn’t lose. Of course, it is also convenient to ignore, so if you aren’t a self-starter who can maintain your enthusiasm on your own, this may not be the program for you.
Read a Book
There are millions of weight loss books out there. You can’t go to a public library without tripping over two or three of them. If you look long enough, you’ll eventually find one you can deal with and perhaps even lose weight but this method, like online weight loss, requires a good deal more self-discipline than most.
Support Group
These programs can be very successful if you can just get yourself to drive to the weekly meeting. These programs provide a sense of community and help you to connect with others that are trying to do the same thing you are. These require attendance and a little humility when weighing in, but they can also provide a social and educational experience that you may not otherwise get.
Weight Loss Vacations
Sure, we’d all like to pack up and take off for a few weeks at a spa where somebody will roll us out of bed in the morning, do our cooking and plan our day of fun activities. Who wouldn’t? The sad fact for most of us is that we have families, jobs, commitments and budgets that simply will not allow for such extravagance. If you can afford the time and money involved, check out a weight loss cruise, spa or resort and enjoy!
Hire a Team
Janet Jackson did it! Get yourself a Nutritionist who will evaluate your body and set up a nutrition program that is perfect for you. Then hire a trainer who will put you through your paces, evaluate your progress and keep training you for optimum results. I worked out with a personal trainer once. She was cute, friendly and thin. I had my doubts. She put me through an amazing workout that I felt for a week. It was fantastic. The problem was that her rate was $89 and hour! Now, I’d love to work out with a trainer every day. I’m sure I’d get great results but I’d never be able to afford such a thing. This is an expensive route to go, but it’ll get you exactly where you want to be.
Meal Delivery
There are meal delivery programs in every major city for nearly every diet you could imagine. For those of you not in or near a major city, you can still find programs that will deliver your meals weekly. They come by FedEx or UPS and be frozen and packed in coolers and dry ice. All you have to do is make sure you have the freezer space and then just pull a meal out and pop it in the microwave when it is time to eat. This is an effortless way to eat properly and amazingly convenient, but it will cost you.
No matter which style you choose, it’ll cost you. You’ll either pay in time, energy, cash or a combination thereof.
What you need to do now is ask yourself the following:
1. What results do I want to achieve?
2. How long do I have to achieve them?
3. What am I willing to give to achieve them?
