Digital Photo Frames

I have been kicking myself for months for not buying a digital photo frame at Christmas. My husband and I were out Christmas shopping in early December and the local discount store had the digital photo frames on sale. I had one in my hand and even had my husband’s approval if I wanted it as a Christmas present. The practical mom in me said I would wait until I did a little research and I have been kicking myself ever since.

Over the weekend I finally had some spare time to start doing a little internet research on digital photo frames. Below are some of my initial questions and the answers I found as part of my research.
Digital Photo Frame
What size of frame do I want? The largest desktop frames I found were just over 10 inches. Most were between 6 to 8 inches in size. Although several manufacturers also make some awesome 1 inch key chain photo frames.

Does it need to have built in memory or will it need a memory card? I think I would rather have the frame have built in memory. That way I can save my memory cards for taking photos. For me it makes the best sense to pick and choose my photos on my computer and then load what I want to the frame.

Do I want a remote? Of course I want to be able to control the frame with a remote. It just wouldn’t be a cool electronic gadget without a remote.

Should the frame have audio and video capabilities also? For me I think the audio would be a nice touch but surprisingly I am not really interested in having video capabilities also. I guess I have been working on the DVD slide shows so much lately that putting video onto a photo frame isn’t necessary for me.

Normally one of the biggest questions I have is “what does it cost?” but the price is really determined by the features. Deciding what features I want is going to determine my price. I still haven’t decided exactly which digital photo frame will be sitting on my desk. But next time my husband offers to buy me one I will be ready.
