Dinner Discussions 2007 Week 31

This week’s dinner discussions are based on lesson thirty-one for those in Senior Primary and older. The Junior Primary lessons are based on lesson thirty. You may want to talk about preparing for the upcoming school year with your children as well. Remember to keep dinner discussions positive and upbeat.

If you have a child in Nursery or Sunbeams he learned about forgiving others. The lesson told the story of Joseph being sold into Egypt and that he forgave his brothers. The children also discussed how Christ forgave those who crucified him. Additionally the children learned the story of the Prodigal son. Take the time to discuss what forgiveness means with your children.

If you have child between the ages of four and seven she learned about Jesus loves each of us. The children learned the story of Jesus and the children from the Bible. They also learned about Jesus blessing the Nephite children. The children discussed how Christ loves everyone no matter where they live. You may want to discuss they ways you can recognize Christ’s love in your life.

If you have a child between the ages of eight and eleven he learned about how Judas betrayed Jesus. The lesson went on to discuss Jesus’ arrest and trial. You may want to review the events and bear your testimony of the divinity of Christ. The assigned reading Matthew 26:47-54.

If you have a twelve or thirteen year old she learned that reading the scriptures can be enjoyable. The students learned that the attitude they have towards scripture study does make a difference. They discussed the importance of feasting on the word, likening the scriptures to themselves and listening to the Holy Ghost as they read. You may want to share a personal experience about the importance of scripture study.

All members fourteen and over discussed Acts 15:36-18:22 and 1st and 2nd Thessalonians. The lesson focused on the teachings of Paul. The lesson also discussed the qualities that Paul had as a missionary. The lesson encouraged the members to develop these qualities. Next week’s reading assignment is Acts: 18:23-20:38 and Galatians.

The young women learned about the importance of following the laws in each country. The young men learned about forgiveness. The Priesthood and Relief Society lesson was about keeping the Sabbath day holy. Next week’s lesson is based on talks from April’s session of General Conference. The topic will vary according to your local area.
