Femininity is a divine gift. A mother ought to take great pleasure in teaching her daughters to glorify God through femininity. To glorify God through a characteristic one must agree with God on the definition of that characteristic. Therefore the first order of business is to define femininity from a biblical standpoint and shed the world’s view on the subject. A daughter may appear feminine in her ribbons and bows yet her tongue lashes at her father. We are to focus on having a heart to please the Lord and not superficial means of convincing the world. Let us explore what femininity means before we discuss the simple means of teaching this art.
Femininity is quite simply defined as characteristics which are unique or attributed to being female. The definition now begs the question of what characteristics does the bible associate with being female.

Teaching Femininity
I cannot give you a set of standards to follow. I cannot tell you that placing a pink bow neatly in your little darling’s hair will teach femininity. Teaching this art takes time in the Word, prayer, and practice. Your daughter will learn this art by the guidance of mentor. The mentor must exhibit a heart for the Lord and a desire to become the woman intended by Him and not society. The mentor must take careful and purposeful time to study the bible’s view on femininity and apply it to her heart. Finally, the mentor must be willing to pray alongside her disciple and sometimes embark on the journey hand in hand and side by side as we all still need perfecting. What better and more effective mentor is there than mom? Furthermore, the job of mothering ordained by God includes being this mentor to a daughter. Praise the Lord for such an opportunity. As a mom you are shaping a future woman in Christ for His glory. Can you imagine a more delightful and sobering task? Pray up mom, your role is vital to your daughter’s spirituality.
