Discover Dinosaurs at the Zoo in Providence, RI

I’m 33 years old and my world is all about dinosaurs and dragons. Can you tell I have a 3 ½ year old boy? When I saw that our favorite place, the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence Rhode Island was showing cool dinosaur exhibits, I was honestly thrilled.

Did you know that a T-Rex crushed 500 pounds of meat in his mouth? Or that dinos continuously grow a new set of teeth when the old one fall out like crocodiles? So dress in khaki and go discover new Jurrasic facts at the zoo.

·See dinosaurs up close, feel their breath on your back. Well, not exactly but that’s what your child will remember when he stares up at a scaly, huge dinosaur. From now until September 4, DINOSAURS: HOLLYWOOD STYLE is making one last appearance. Then the exhibit, a zoo fundraiser will become extinct, the zoo says.

While the kids ooh and ahh, adults will enjoy the back stage presentation of what it takes to bring dinosaurs to life, from creation to creating screams in movie theaters.

Don’t miss:

Operating a 6-foot Dimetrodon robot.

Baby dinos that (human) babies can crawl on.

A huge Spinosaurus that is just asking for his picture to be taken.

·Have your little superstar roar like a T-Rex at DINO IDOL. On July 6, 13, 20 and 27 children can test their lungs. Winners will receive prizes and the pride of being the scariest dino in town. And there won’t be any mean Idol criticism either! Free event with paid zoo admission.

·Wait until EXTINCTION WEEKEND to visit DINOSAURS: HOLLYWOOD STYLE, a special evening event on August 6 and September 3, 6-8 p.m. See the two story T-Rex and learn about how he was created, and why he’s the most frightening of them all. Don’t forget to check out the other 15 dinos and view the Plains of Africa exhibit. Entertainment will take place in the African Fishing Village. It’s a perfect summer evening for you and your child. $6 adults/$4 children.

Admission to the zoo is $12 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $6 for kids 3-12. Children under 3 are free. To see more animal information, go to: www.rogerwilliamsparkzoo.org
