Comic-Con International: San Diego 2007 is just around the corner and for budding artists, it’s a great time to submit your own original artwork and interpretation of the world of Narnia and its inhabitants to their Fan Art section. All entries need to be submitted by July 6th and the winning entry will be printed as a limited edition poster and handed out to many fans of Narnia at the Comic-Con.
The director, Andrew Adamson, will be choosing the winning piece of artwork. According to the website submissions rules, the artwork must have a minimum 300 dpi resolution. Also, the artwork may be of creatures, weapons, locales, animals or costumes.
None of the artwork should contain any human images or characters such as the White Witch, Mr. Tummus, the children. The site also offers you the tools to incorporate the Narnia title art into your artwork.
This is a great opportunity for budding artists, graphic artists and more to strut their stuff.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is the next movie based on the series by C.S. Lewis. The movie is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2008. Technically, Prince Caspian is the fourth book, but filmmakers elected to make it next in order to maintain the continuity with the aging children from the film version of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
If you haven’t read the books, when the children return to Narnia, only a year has passed in their lives on Earth, but over 1300 years have passed in Narnia. There is an evil king by the name of Miraz that prevents his nephew (Caspian) from assuming the throne that is his by rights. Caspian uses Susan’s horn to summon the four children back to Narnia to help him reclaim his rightful throne.
