Oh, I’m excited! There’s a new Disney on Ice show coming to a town near you and soon, with a 70 city, two year tour beginning in August. The show is called Worlds of Fantasy and it will feature characters from The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Cars and the cast of the new fairies from the upcoming Tinker Bell film (and also the Disney Fairies book series).
Fairy Tale Segment
According to the press release, the audience will be invited into the world of Pixie Hollow as the entire icy floor is transformed into springtime. The initial cities on the tour will get to meet the fairies and their mystical environment within the heart of Never Land before the film is released. I wish I could say my area was in the preview, but it’s not. My daughter will be thrilled to hear about this ice show because she’s a huge fan of the Disney Fairies book series and she looks forward to each new release with great anticipation.
Cars
Another fantastic feature of the new show will be Disney/Pixar’s Cars characters coming to life on the ice. These aren’t just skaters dressed up in Cars costumes, instead these are animatronics with moving eyes and mouths that will twist and turn about on the frozen highway. This sounds like Disney magic at its best, personally.
According to the show’s producer Kenneth Feld, “Worlds of Fantasy connects classic and new Disney stories. Audiences will be blown away in Radiator Springs when they encounter the unforgettable crew of animated cars, this time built to scale and live on ice. They will see their all-time favorites — The Little Mermaid and The Lion King — and discover up-close the secret world of Pixie Hollow. All of this, combined with a brand new Disney Princess pre-show experience, provides a value that is truly unparalleled in the world of live family entertainment.”
Pre-Show Experience?
Apparently when at each show, visitors will be able to see a collection ball gowns and other mementos from the Disney Princess stories. And yes moms, there will be photo opportunities. I’ve already got this tour bookmarked on my web browser and I’m looking forward to getting tickets as soon as possible to check it out.
