There’s no doubt that small children have the added benefit of still being in that brilliant age where imagination isn’t simply imaginary; it’s real. This is probably why parents love taking their small children to Walt Disney World and Disneyland. For the opportunity to see what these two parks look like through the eyes of one still gifted with an unlimited imagination.
Disney has certainly realized this over the years and, in order to meet the demands of parents who want to experience this window of imaginary opportunity with their toddlers and preschoolers, Disney has created the “Magical Beginnings” program for the Walt Disney World and Disneyland theme parks. From August 13 – September 30, 2006, Disney will be presenting families with small children with the opportunity to experience special events designed especially for the toddler crowd. Also, Disney will be offering families participating in the Magical Beginnings program longer hours at the Magic Kingdom park.
In addition to the added benefit of the special events and extra Magic Kingdom hours, Disney will also be offering those families participating in Magical Beginnings with discounts and savings not available to others. Citing research that pinpoints young families as being more apt to taking vacations during late summer to early autumn, Disney hopes to better cater to this demographic and make the trip more memorable and accessible.
So, what kind of specialized entertainment can families expect from Magical Beginnings? According to Disney’s press release regarding the Magical Beginnings program, Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World will be featuring “Playhouse Disney in Concert” headlined by Disney Channel favorite, “The Wiggles”, and featuring other special guests such as The Doodlebops, Dan Zanes, and more. Since the dates and guests are still tentative on these concerts, Disney has yet to confirm exactly when these guests will be appearing at their parks.
