Have you ever wanted to go on a photo safari in Africa and to stay in a lodge where you could watch animals graze on the savanna from your room? Well, for those of you who can’t make the trip to Africa, you’ll want to consider booking a room at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
The authentic thatched roof, spacious lobby with cozy sitting areas, African treasures and a fireplace welcome you to your African experience. The 33-acre savanna just outside will delight both you and your children. You can see 36 species of animals and 26 species of birds which include antelope, zebra, giraffe, gazelle, and ostrich. Be sure to bring your binoculars and zoom lenses! Outdoor overlooks, picture windows and private balconies provide you with plenty of opportunities for watching wildlife right there at the lodge.
There are 1293 rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and all but 100 have a view of the African game preserve. As with all Disney Resorts, each room is decorated tastefully with the theme of the resort. You’ll find African print tapestries and fabrics, hand-carved furnishings and gauze-draped bedding. Standard rooms offer 344 square feet of living space and consist of two queen beds, one queen bed and bunk beds or a king sized bed and have three view choices (standard, pool and savanna). Deluxe rooms offer 381 square feet and also have a day bed in addition to the standard bedding arrangements and offer either pool or savanna views. All rooms have a ceiling fan, small table and two chairs, an armoire with television and a split bath with double sinks. Standard conveniences like telephone with voice mail, an in-room safe, and even daily newspaper delivery are also included with the price of your room. Upon request you can also have an iron, ironing board and coffee maker in your room.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge also has Concierge level rooms available.
