Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

This is by far my favorite of all the Disney resorts. The Grand Floridian was inspired by the turn-of-the-century Victorian resorts of the Florida coast. It is complete with verandas, latticework, dormers, and turrets and will easily transport you back to a time when everything about vacationing was elegant. The five-story main building houses the Grand Lobby which is decorated in perfect Victorian furnishings. There is an open-cage elevator and the ceiling is decorated with stained-glass domes and glittering chandeliers. Outside is the Seven Seas Lagoon and a white sandy beach.

If the lobby doesn’t transport you, the 900 guest rooms will! In each guest room you’ll find printed wall coverings, marble vanities, ceiling fans, and Victorian woodwork. These rooms will accommodate up to five guests and are generally 440 square feet and furnished with 2 queen-sized beds, a daybed, armoire, reading chair, a table and two side chairs. Many of the rooms have balconies. The main building houses the concierge level rooms and suites while the five, four and five story lodging buildings house standard rooms, slightly smaller “attic” rooms, and suites. The suites include a parlor and one, two, or three bedrooms.

There are fifteen honeymoon suites at the Grand Floridian and for good reason. It is the most romantic place at Disney World!

Concierge level rooms offer personalized services, free continental breakfast, free afternoon tea, free evening refreshments, and private elevators.

At the Grand Floridian you’ll be treated to signature toiletries, 24-hour room service, turndown service, a mini bar, a large in-room safe, digital thermostat, hair dryer, newspaper delivery, voice mail, valet parking, and big white fluffy robes just waiting to pamper you.

The Grand Floridian Spa and Health Club offers massages, facials, exercise equipment, saunas, whirlpools, and steam rooms.

An especially romantic touch available at the Grand Floridian is private dining on your balcony, on the beach, or even on a boat in the lagoon. Just call room service and they’ll arrange it!
