In my post on hybrid homeschooling, I talked about combining homeschooling with distance learning or local classes. Here is the list of Distance Learning Programs you can use.
Canada College is an online high school is specifically for residents of Canada. This is a school at home program and works in conjunction with the Ontario Ministry of Education. Tuition costs $600.00 a course.
Christa McAuliffe Academy is an accredited K-12 program that supplies online tutoring. This is an online program that also gives the students assignments to complete offline. The student learns at his or her own pace, and does not move onto the next step until they score an 80% or higher on an exam. The program also uses certified teacher-mentors. Tuition costs $3600 a year plus fees.
Citizens’ High School in an accredited distance learning high school established in 1981. The program offers rigorous coursework and meets all qualifications for college bound students, not to mention, a high school diploma. This program costs are divulged in the enrollment contract.
Clonlara School Home Based Education Program also a private campus school, Clonara is an accredited, comprehensive program for students of all ages. Clonara’s online high school is “CompuHigh.” The home school program includes curriculum, and advisor, and thorough assessments of each student. Tuition for the K-8 program starts at $650.00 a year, not including books and fees.
CompuHigh (also known as Whitmore School) is a nationally accredited high school. Students have 24-7 access and each course has a teacher, just like a regular high school. There are no book related costs as all coursework is online. Work completed at Previous accredited schools and programs are evaluated for credit. Individual courses cost $275.00. The Whitmore Diploma Program starts at $985.00.
