Today, I came across an interesting personal finance website. Bundle.com is a site where you can see how you spend your money in a visual format. On the site, you can track all of the things that you do with money from bank accounts to credit cards and investments. The program categorizes your spending and creates graphs and charts so that you can see your finances in visual form.
Also, Bundle tracks the spending habits of many people all over the world. You can see what other people in your local area are spending and what they are spending their money on. You can use the site to create custom budgets, and there is also a lot of good personal finance content that you can read to educate yourself about a diverse array of topics.
When I first looked at the site, I thought that it was going to be really cool. I have decided after looking at it that it is not for me. While the colorful bubbles on the charts look visually appealing, and I would like to know more about how I spend my money, some of the features on the site are not anything that I am interested in. For example, I really do not care about how other people are spending their money. It does not matter whether they live up the street or in another state, what they do with their money has no effect on what I do with mine. Perhaps I am missing the point or being too opinionated or something, but I just cannot see the use in comparing my financial situation to that of other people. Everyone has so many different factors that make up the big picture of their personal and family finances and the decisions that they make are unique to their situation. Although I do not care for some of the information on Bundle, I thought that some of the articles were good, though. There are tips from everything to setting up an emergency fund to dealing with a cheap friend. You may want to check out Bundle.com to see if it is a good personal finance tool for you.
