Do You Keep Up With Church News?

I have to admit that I don’t really keep up with the church news that well. I have no excuse, really. I live in UT, so many happenings in the church appear on the local news. I also receive the Deseret News newspaper, which is owned by the church. Every Saturday, they include a copy of the church news. Do I read it? Not really. I may skim through it, or look at the pictures, but I am sad to say, I really don’t know a lot of the day to day news that the church puts out.

A great resource for us as LDS members of the church is the LDS church news website. It is found at www.ldschurchnews.com Some of the unique features on this site include:

*The Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s events

*The Church Almanac

*Dedicatory Prayers

*Humanitarian Efforts

*Sports Events

At the top of the page, it is organized by featured articles, viewpoint articles, recent callings that have been issued, and the archives. This website is owned by Deseret News, and is the official website for the church news.

There is also another website that is very popular among LDS members and that is www.mormontimes.com. This website is also owned by Deseret News, but is not the “official” news of the church. However, it still has very valuable information for us as members of the church. This provides members of the church with a broader view of what is going on in our world today, but from the perspective of members of the church. You really can’t go wrong with either website. They both provide a lot of valuable information on what is going on in our world today, from a perspective that we can relate to. Check them out today!
