Do You Still Dress and Coiffe Even Though You Work From Home?

I confess, some days, I work in my pajamas (or robe or sweats or wrapped in a blanket)—but it’s not very often. Mostly, I just feel better and more productive if I treat my work-at-home days just like my work-away-from-home days. Now, even if I shower and dress, I don’t always do my hair if I’m not planning on leaving the house—but, I’d love to hear from our other work-at-homers and home business owners about how you all approach daily hygiene when you don’t have to be out and about?

I know that not all work from home businesses take place sitting at a computer or desk and many individuals actually have to see people and go out into the world on a regular basis, so I guess the showering, dressing and coiffing are pretty much standard for those of you with those sorts of jobs. But, for the rest of us, those who could sit around in a coffee-stained t-shirt and smelly robe all day while we make money and get stuff done, do we?
When I first started working from my home office, I relished the freedom to avoid bathing and dressing. After about two weeks of slovenly slacker behavior (okay, I didn’t go two weeks without bathing or dressing, but I wasn’t exactly leaping out of bed to shower and slather my face with make-up), I got sick of myself and decided that if I didn’t start wearing pants with a waistband on a daily basis instead of sweats and pajamas, I would end up with no muscle tone and needing to purchase a newer, more ample, wardrobe. Plus, I found that if I got myself going in the morning, all clean and smelling lovely, I could head out of the house much easier to do work in a coffee shop, the library, or meet a friend for lunch. All in all, dressing and coiffing made my day much more productive and helped me feel positive and professional in my new work-at-home business efforts.

Alright, your turn—do you dress and coiffe (Make-up? Perfume? Cologne? Shoes?) even though you may now be running your work life from home?
