Do you take lunch?

Do you take a lunch break? I find taking a lunch break during the day very difficult. It is past lunch time now and I still have not stopped to eat. I have, however, got a lot of work done and feeling good about my level of production. Yet, I am starving and insistent on getting just a few more things done before I take a break. Who knows, by that point, something else may come up to push lunch off and then soon lunch will turn into dinner.

We did not become home based professionals to torture ourselves. Yet, we submit ourselves to starvation, late nights, no fresh air, and spending time in solitary, just to get work done. Does that sound like the life envisioned for a home based professional? I know I did not see working from home in such a bleak manner. We are sometimes so focused on getting to the next level or just getting on more thing done that we neglect ourselves or our families. There are times I want to give it up and got to work. At least work ends at a particular time and you get a lunch break.

Wait, one aspect of working at home is setting your own hours. We chose this life for family, for freedom and yet we live it like we are in chains. Yes, building a business is hard work. Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking working from home is easy. Yet, you can take a lunch break and end your job at a certain time. I promise you will be more productive, less stressed, and happier, if you take time to eat lunch, sleep, spend time with family, laugh, and shut off your computer and phone after a certain time. I understand there will be busy times. But every day is not crunch time. If you have not eaten today then please take time to eat. If you have take felt the outside the then take a few moments now. If you were up all night getting something done then take a nap. I am officially giving you permission to refresh so you can be YOU; a more productive and happier you.
