Don’t forget your “tools!”

What is a carpenter without his tools? Or a mechanic without his box? Can you imagine a doctor without his stethoscope? As business women, we also have our tools, and we shouldn’t leave home without them!

There are many types of tools. The ones I will address now are your “out of the house tools.”

Your Voice. Whenever you leave the house, take your voice. Word of Mouth marketing is going to help you expand your customer base (for free). Check out my blog on WOM.

Business Cards: What is using your voice if you do not have a business card to share! You can do these at a low cost, so there is no excuse! Vista Print is a great resource! Take advantage of it. Or, if you want to print your own go to Staples and buy business card paper. This works well if you plan to promote in rank. Or, some people will put their goal rank on their card as a motivating factor to work hard.

Small Pad of Paper and Pen: Often, potential customers will lose your information. I do it all the time. Do you know how many business cards have gone through the wash? So I like to get their name and number and do a quick call. When I’m out and about, I don’t want to take their time explaining what I do. But if they are interested, a call can make a huge difference.

Samples: I keep samples in my car or coat pocket. I would keep them in my purse if I carried one. This way, I can give them one and then when I follow up they will know more if they like the product. If your business is not sample-compatible, like toys, carry a sales flyer or an info flyer featuring your favorite toys.

Car Magnet or Sign:
There will be plenty of people who won’t see you, but who WILL see your car. This is a one time investment that will pay or itself over and over again.

Don’t foget your toolbox!
