Don’t Give Up!

I hope you don’t mind if I toot my own horn for a bit. I have been back on the fitness wagon and going strong. I am feeling really good, physically and mentally.

I have noticed changes in my body that are giving me such motivation. One of those changes is when I would do this particular yoga exercise that requires touching my toes while stretching my leg. When I first started, my knee was bent. I couldn’t straighten it for the life of me.

Now I noticed that I can straighten it some. My muscles are being stretched and I am able to do more. In addition to that my husband made the comment that he noticed a difference in my sides when he hugged me. Hey, I can admit that I have some waist issues.

I also noticed that my abs and arms would sometimes get sore. I thought there was something wrong until I did some research. Sore muscles just mean that I am really working them and they will become less sore as I get stronger.

I say all this to encourage others. I know that if fitness has never been part of your lifestyle it can seem impossible to change. It can be filled with a lot of up and down moments, which if you follow my fitness blogs you know that is the case for me.

However the point is to never give up. You fall down but you get back up again. That is the key to making fitness a lifestyle. It’s like a habit that I believe takes 30 days of practice before it becomes a habit. Keep practicing fitness and before you know it, it’s just a natural part of your day.

Don’t give up now. Swimsuit season is falling behind and you have several months ahead to try again for next season.
