Now that the winter season has official arrived in many cities, it is time to enjoy all of the beauty that the season brings. One way to celebrate this winter season is by taking pictures to document all of your favorite things. I have come up with a list of things that you may want to capture in photos and I would like to share them with you.
The First Snow. This may mean different things to different people. You may want to photograph your home lightly dusted in snow after the first flurries. For me, it will mean traveling to where is does snow with my children and letting them experience snow for the first time.
Icicles. These have always been so beautiful and amazing to me. Take pictures from all different angles, both in the day and at night. Lots of fun possibilities.
Winter Clothes. You could take a picture of each family member dressed in all of their winter clothes before they go outside. If you have a place where you store boots or jackets, you could photograph them all lined up in the closet. You could go for close up shots to capture and fun details or stand back for a full view of your winter items.
Fireplace. If you have a fireplace and enjoy using it, take some pictures of it. You may have someone who is the designated fire started who has a specific set of steps that are followed when starting the fire. It would be fun to do a step-by-step guide on how to start the fire in your fireplace.
Outdoor Activities. If you have a favorite outdoor winter activity, be sure to capture it on film. Whether it’s sledding, building a snowman or going on a hike, be sure to document these special memories.
There are so many wonderful opportunities ahead of us to preserve this winter season.
