Dreyer’s Fruit Bars: New Fun Flavors

I am always on the hunt for low calorie snacks. I think having something quick, convenient, and low calories on hand at all times will help put an end to poor snacking. Making poor choices when snacking can lead to eating a box of Oreos or handfuls of chocolate chips. That’s not just me, right? I have been known to secretly chow down on a handful of chocolate chips if I am really hungry or my sweet tooth gets the best of me. I try to look at the harmful amount of fat, sugar and calories on the package before making such a poor choice but I’m hopeless. Yet, if I keep healthy snacks that are not carrots on hand, I bypass the chocolate chips and Oreos.

One such snack, I had the pleasure to review is Dreyer’s Fruit Bars. You may be already familiar with Dreyer’s Fruit Bars but recently they came out with a few new flavors. You can now get box with Acai Blueberry, Pomegranate, and Goji White Grape. This is the antioxidant grouping of fruit bars! Each bar contains only 50 calories, no fat, and only 12 carbohydrates. Now that may lead you to think you can eat the entire box but that is not wise. Think of it as a free food. This is the snack you can have when you are craving something late at night and you know that cookie will only go straight to your hips. You can even have a bar after eating more than your fair share of pasta without doing you harm.

Now, if the taste isn’t good than it could be zero calories and you will still head for the cookie. So, taste is very important in satisfying those urges for something sweet. I was excited to try the bars and will admit that I tried one of each in one sitting. What? That was only 150 calories! I will have to say my favorite is pomegranate and that was also the favorite among my kids. However, a close second was the Goji White Grape. We are not blueberry fans but even the blueberry was gobbled up! If you are looking for a fun snack to satisfy you anytime and not add territory to your hips, this is it!

Disclosure: I had the opportunity to taste a complimentary box of Dreyer’s Fruit Bars for a review.
