Christmas is over. Are you shopping yet? If you’re a Frugal Queen
like me, you shop all year round. The next gift occasion in our house is in February. I found the perfect Valentine’s Day gift, especially for those of us on a tight budget.
Fye.com has the Lord of the Rings complete trilogy (widescreen, even!) in a boxed set for only $13.49 including shipping! You can’t rent the three of them for that price.
It’s a six disc set including:
The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, Bonus Features, Revealing the Secrets behind the Production of the Epic Adventure, Featurettes, exploring the locales and cultures of Middle-earth,Music Videos, Video Game Preview, Director’s comments, and many more extras.
Lord of the Rings is the blockbuster epic trilogy produced by Peter Jackson. If you haven’t seen it, you’re in a small minority – it broke attendance records worldwide. It’s rated PG-13, mostly for violence, but even my very young 10-year old easily understood the fantasy vs. reality. There are a couple of scenes in LOTR: Return of the King that may scare younger children, so you might want to preview them – or just save them as a treat for you and your spouse to snuggle up with on a cold night.
I remember seeing Star Wars when I was a kid (yes, I’m old). LOTR is the Star Wars for this generation. It’s really a must-see. We already have them all separately, and they get plenty of viewing time. I hear Smiegel’s voice mimicked on a regular basis from one of my teens, “My Precious.” My own favorite character is Elron, mostly because he’s the spitting image of my grandfather in his younger days. There’s so much to enjoy in these movies that you probably won’t ever get tired of watching them.
Here’s how to get the boxed set for that low price:
