The great thing about Disney World is the fun you can have no matter what part of the world you have come from. I remember during one trip to Disney World there was a Japanese tour group that we encountered at different hotels and parks along the way. They were wonderfully social, but they were also charming in how they interacted with all of us.
English Is Not Your First Language
Despite the Americanization of the parks around the world and the obvious use of English language at the park, English doesn’t have to be your first language when it comes to visiting Disney World. Ears to the World allows visitors from many different languages and cultural backgrounds to enjoy the park.
The wireless device is free for guests to use, they just have to pick them up at the Guest Relations desk at any park. Ears to the World provides visitors with narration to more than 25 attractions in:
- Spanish
- Japanese
- Portuguese
- French
- German
Opening Doors
The wireless device provides you and your fellow guests with a great opportunity for hearing what is going on in your own language. It makes sense that the most magical place on Earth will open doors between cultural and language barriers in order to let guests experience Disney Magic.
The parks open their doors and make wheelchair access possible, there are AA meetings hosted at local hotels for recovering alcoholics visiting the parks and the real-time translation allows guests from other countries to enjoy the attractions in their own language.
I can imagine it would also be a great perk for some parents to borrow some of these devices to help further their kids understanding of a foreign language they are studying as they visit more familiar attractions. A lot like watching movies you know well dubbed into a foreign language. Useful and educational, Ears Around the World can be a great gift and treat for visitors to the parks.
