It is that time of the year again and temptations are high if you have a sweet tooth. Getting your kids Easter baskets ready is just plain fun. There are all those little candies in pastel wrappers. You just have to try some of them out. STOP RIGHT THERE!! One little piece of candy equals about 50 calories. Who can eat just one anyway? Before you know it you have eaten two, three, maybe even four. Who is counting after that? You figure that you have eaten so many now why bother to stop. Your diet is sabotaged for this day anyway. Resisting the temptation to eat the Easter candy is tough, especially if you are a candy lover.
You know what I absolutely love? I love those peanut butter eggs. I could eat a whole package of them, but I will not do it. Do you know how I keep away from them? Unfortunately, if you cannot do it on your own then you just do not buy them. That is what I do anyway. The temptation is just too great. Do you know they are about 250 calories? For ONE! That is right. One egg has enough calories to equal a snack. Wouldn’t you rather have something healthy and more substantial than a peanut butter egg? Try putting more than just candy in your child’s Easter basket. There are all kinds of little inexpensive things that you can put in their Easter basket that they would be happy to get. Limit your children’s sugar intake, if possible. After all, they really do not need all of that candy either. Kids are kids so they will be looking for some candy so please oblige them. After all, it is Easter and they know that the bunny does bring candy.
If you must sample the candy, make it worth it without sabotaging your weight loss plans. Pick something that you really, really like and then only buy one of them. You will only regret it later and we all know how that feels.
