Easter Funnies

My 6-year-old is the joke queen in our home. When she tires of repeating her favorites (What kind of cheese is not yours? Nacho cheese!), she makes up her own (Why did the penguin cross the road? Because there was a fish he wanted to eat on the other side!), and it’s hard to tell which are funnier.

During the holidays she excitedly adds to her joke collection thanks in large part to the dozens of greeting cards she receives from family and friends. In addition, she is a huge fan of kids’ websites that feature a seasonal riddle or joke a day. This Lent we hit up several sites and found the following kid-friendly Easter funnies:

What kind of plants do eggs keep?

Eggplants!

What do you call an egg from outer space?

An Egg-stra terrestial

What day does an egg hate the most?

Fry-days

Why did the Easter Bunny have to fire the duck?

Because he kept quacking all the eggs!

Why does Peter Cottontail hop down the bunny trail?

Because his parents wouldn’t let him borrow the car!

What do you call rabbits that marched in a long sweltering Easter parade?

Hot, cross bunnies!

It’s been nice gnawing you.

What do you call a dumb bunny?

A hare brain.

How can you tell which rabbits are the oldest in a group?

Just look for the grey hares.

What do you call a rabbit who tells jokes?

A funny bunny.

What happened to the egg when he was tickled too much?

He cracked up.

What do you call a sleeping egg?

Egg-zosted!

What do you call a rabbit with fleas?

Bugs Bunny

How do you know when you’re eating rabbit stew?

When it has hares in it.

What does a rooster say to a hen he likes?

Your one hot chick!

How does an Easter chicken bake a cake?

From scratch

Why are people always tired in April?

Because they’ve just finished a March.
