Easy Photo Projects

With family reunion season in full swing, cameras are working overtime snapping shots of multiple generations loving on each other in the summer sun. The special moments made and shared during these annual weekend get-togethers often make their way into albums, scrapbooks and onto social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. However, there are a slew of other ways you can preserve and display the images snapped during these special occasions. Here are just a few:

FAMILY TREE

Typically during a family reunion, each clan poses for a portrait. However, instead of filing away each shot, consider displaying them on a family tree. Simply print out one photo per family. Next, trace a large leaf, cut it out and run copies on colored paper. Then, cut each picture to fit inside the individual paper leaves. Glue the photo onto the leaf. When the glue dries, punch a hole near the stem of each leaf. Finally, string a piece of ribbon or yarn through the hole and attach it to a real tree branch.

PHOTO VASE

This is a great project to use up extra photos taken during a family reunion. To start, find a glass cube-shaped vase. Next, select a variety of memorable shots taken at the reunion which feature different members of your clan. You can mix up the shots, combining some funny, candid images with other posed portraits. The idea is to have an array of family members represented on the finished project. Next, trim the photos to a desired size and glue them on the vase, making sure that you leave about one-inch of space at the top and bottom of the vase. Also, make sure all the pictures are butted up to one another. You don’t want to have any visible spaces between the photos. To finish wrap a piece of ribbon along the top and bottom of the vase, and adhere it in place with a hot glue gun.
