How did you spend your Easter? Did you slave away cooking a holiday feast for an army of family and friends? If so, then you likely have no desire to spend a ton of time in the kitchen today.
If you single handily put together a multi-course Easter extravaganza, then you shouldn’t have to break a sweat today. Instead, consider making the following super-easy recipes. They will allow you to put a homemade meal on the table without having to strap yourself back to the stove:
CROCK POT BRATWURSTS
Ingredients:
12 fresh bratwursts
2 tablespoons butter
1 red bell pepper, sliced in strips
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced in strips
1 green bell pepper, sliced in strips
1 large sweet onion, sliced and quartered
1 granny smith apple, sliced
3 bottles beer
1 cup chicken broth
12 brat buns
Directions:
Lightly brown brats in butter. Layer one half of the bell peppers, onion and apple in the bottom of the crockpot. Place 6 brats on top. Repeat with remaining veggies and brats. Pour beer and broth over brats and veggies. Cook on high for 1 to 2 hours. Turn down to low and cook at least 4 more hours.
Serve brat and pepper mixture on rolls with your favorite condiments.
BAKED BEANS AND BACON
Ingredients:
6 slices of bacon
2 (16-ounce) cans baked beans
1/4 cup finely diced onion
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Partially cook bacon.
Stir together the baked beans, onion, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, and brown sugar in an ovenproof dish. Top with slices of bacon.
Bake uncovered for 45 minutes until the bacon is crisp and beans are bubbling hot.
EASY FRIED CHICKEN
Ingredients:
3 eggs
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons pepper
2 teaspoons seasoning salt
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoons red pepper
Chicken breast
2 cups vegetable oil
Directions:
Crack and mix eggs in a bowl.
Mix flour and seasoning in another bowl.
Dip the chicken in the egg then into the flour.
Warm vegetable oil in a pan on the stovetop.
Place floured chicken breast into oil.
Brown chicken for about 8 minutes per side.
