Ed McMahon is Dying and Other Pop Culture Paraphernalia

Former “Tonight Show” sidekick Ed McMahon is in “extremely serious” condition at an undisclosed California hospital, according to new reports.

The 85-year-old television personality reportedly has been hospitalized for the past three weeks with pneumonia and other medical problems, and is now in intensive care.

McMahon’s rep refused to reveal which hospital the star is currently being treated at; however he did confirm that the Super Bowl ad man’s wife and family members are present.

On a lighter note… Melrose Place fans have a reason to smile today.

The CW just announced that it plans to bring the 1990s soap opera back to the small screen.

The original show, which ran from 1992 to 1999, launched the careers of Marcia Cross and Kristin Davis.

If you have always dreamed of landing a gig on TV like Cross and Davis you might be able to squeak out something close to it… provided you can dance like a pro.

If you can impress Beyonce with your moves she will give you $250,000 and a chance to be a star.

The singer recently announced plans for an online dance contest. Fans are invited to submit videos of themselves dancing to Beyonce’s Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) hit.

The winner will walk away with the cash and their video will be shown during the singer’s upcoming world tour.

The entry deadline is March 6th.

Finally, Jennifer Hudson is breaking her silence.

The singer, who suffered a horrific loss when her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were gunned down last fall, says performing has been a healing force in her life.

“I’m just glad to be back and be back to work again. Just doing what I love to do is like therapy,” Hudson said on a live episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show today. “I’m in a very good place.”

Hudson’s interview was very brief and the Oscar- and Grammy-winner made no direct reference to the slayings of her family members. Basically, she sang her latest single, If This Isn’t Love, promoted an upcoming tour with Robin Thicke, and showed off pictures of her three dogs, named Oscar, Grammy and Dreamgirl.
