As I look at my eight month old daughter, I wonder where on earth the time has gone. One year ago I was only twenty three weeks pregnant! As I imagined what my daughter would be like a year ago,I now have had the pleasure of watching her grow and discover the world around her for eight months. While I am shocked that she is already eight months old, I am also surprised that she has learned so much in just eight months!
At eight months old my daughter is happily devouring many different kinds of food. From egg yolks to sweet potatoes to yogurt, she is truly excited to participate in our family meals. Gone are the days when she was content sitting in her bouncy seat or playing with toys while we ate, she is now fully participating and insists on sitting (in her own chair) and eating with us too. She will try just about anything and finds the whole experience with eating solids to be an absolute pleasure. Now if I could only convince her that avocado is good too!
To go along with her newfound love of food, she has also cut her two bottom teeth without much issue. While she still chews on everything in sight, she prefers to chew on more delicious things like carrots and apples. She is also working on cutting her first top tooth which will of course only improve her eating skills!
What would a teething, eating baby be without the means to get from place to place! She has not only mastered the ability to crawl with great efficiency, she has also gained the unique skill (one her brother never acquired) to crawling into and under the tiniest places. Occasionally, she gets herself stuck but for the most part she is able to maneuver herself out of most sticky spots.
