Embracing the New Year

I really at this time have no idea how I will spend New Year’s Eve. However, I hope to spend it with the love of my life, my husband.

There are many different ways that people bring in the New Year. Some prefer a calm entering and celebrate with the family just trying to keep everyone awake until midnight.

Others prefer that it come in with a boom. They stay out celebrating hardly until no more celebrating can be tolerated.

Others are very nervous about the entire New Year’s Eve traditions anyway. As most have heard you should have someone to kiss to help bring in the New Year.

Being alone on New Year’s Eve can be very depressing for some. They feel that they are beginning the New Year alone and will remain that way through it.

However, it is not really how you celebrate the New Year that matters. It is more how you embrace it. The joy of thinking of the year being new is that with new things come new beginnings.

Think of this year as a way to do something about a part of yourself or your life that just does not seem to be going right.

If you spent all last year worrying about finding that special someone, think of this New Year as being a time to celebrate yourself. The key to finding someone that thinks you are special is to think that you are special.

Last year was not bad for me. However, I know that I have a lot of “do overs” to try out next year. Unlike many resolutions, I will not be dieting or working out. Those things seem too superficial for me. I plan to show my loved ones more how special they are to me. I plan to stay stressed out less and enjoy things more. I plan to think harder about the impact that my actions and words have upon those that I love.

So how will you embrace the New Year?
