Emmitt and Mario: Dancing Up a Storm

It is one of the most popular shows on television and tonight is the finale. I am talking of course, about “Dancing with the Stars.” Tonight, we find out who will win the title of Dancing King (there are no females in the finale). What a race it has been up to this point! Since the get-go, actor Mario Lopez and football great Emmitt Smith have had a great run – with a few exceptions. Emmitt stumbled a bit early on in the competition and Mario was chastised for breaking the rules of the Tango. But even a low score did not place Mario as one of the bottom three dancers.

Last week, there were three dancers in the semi-finals – Emmitt, Mario, and actor Joey Lawrence. At the end of the night, the scores were all tied. It was only the votes of the home viewers the led Mario and Emmitt to the final. Joey, however, will be dancing in the upcoming “Dancing with the Stars” tour.

So who will win tonight? In the closest scoring final ever in the history of the show, both Mario and Emmitt had the same score from the judges at the end of the night. So again, it comes down to the voting of the home viewers. Personally, I am pulling for Mario, although I must admit Emmitt is just as cute as he can be when dancing.

Season Three News and Gossip:

Love in the Air?

This season has seemingly produced a few romances between the professional dancers and celebrities. Sources have admitted to People Magazine that singer Willa Ford and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy are an item. There are rumors that professional dancer, Jesse DeSoto, is romancing his partner, newly separated Shanna Moakler. Actor Mario Lopez and partner Karina Smirnoff have coyly played with the media as to whether they are a couple or not, but just look at their eyes when they look at each other – they aren’t fooling anyone!

Monique’s Secret

Dancer Monique Coleman was the final female in the competition (she was eliminated in fourth place), but the fact that she could dance at all (and as well as she did) is a small wonder. A car hit her when she was 5 and she was in a body cast for months.

Jerry’s Dance

Everyone thinks of Jerry Springer as a witty guy who hosts a crazy talk show, but this year on “Dancing with the Stars,” Jerry showed us a different side when he wanted to stay long enough to learn the waltz. Why did he want to learn that particular dance? So he could dance with his daughter at her upcoming wedding. There was hardly a dry eye in the studio when Jerry put his comedy away to show his daughter he could dance the waltz.

Sara Bows Out Early

Sara Evans had to bow out of the show early when it was announced that she had filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Craig Schelske. But, she may appear in tonight’s final when all the dancers come back for a final dance.
