End of the Month Check In

Another month has come to a close. What have we discussed this month to help us get closer to our individual goals? We discussed children and teen weight loss, how great watermelon is for you, how you do not have to give up peanut butter to lose weight, the emotional side of losing weight, some recipes and how you should focus on health and not your weight. We even touched on the weight loss industry being fertile ground for scams and got some fun recipes to try. So it has been a full month discussing a wide variety of topics. I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Me? Well, my knee is still not allowing me much mobility. It has certainly taken its toll on my plan and making it very hard to keep motivated. I often want to just give up thinking it an impossible task to keep moving toward a goal that now seems so far off. However, I have remembered much of my own articles and decided this is about health and well being over weight loss. Yes, I want to be a skinny Minnie again. Yes, I even want someone to say, “Wow she looks amazing even if she didn’t have four kids!” However, those are hollow goals that will only result in defeat.

So how are YOU doing? Have you tried some new recipes? Do you have a new attitude going into the winter this year? How much weight have you lost? How far from your goal are you? Do you have any questions or topics you want explored?

Losing weight is not an easy task. It takes commitment, determination and the support of those who understand the pitfalls around you. You need a soft place to land other than your padded bottom. Keep up the good work! Keep thinking about your health and how valuable you are to those in your life. Forget the skinny jeans and getting on the scale. Those things control you no longer. Your weight loss will be a byproduct of good health and smart choices not someone desperately seeking the past or someone thinking life is better thin. Think health.
