This is the end of the first month of a new year. Emotions and intentions always run high at the beginning of a New Year only to fall flat by the end of the first month. A New Year gives us an opportunity to change. Actually, it gives us the excuse. You can make any day the first day of your new year. So, if you have fallen short or not started, don’t wait until the next New Year to make a commitment. Commit now. Commit to yourself. You are only hurting and disappointing you when your plans for a new and improved life fail.
My month has been busy. To me, January is like one very long and exhausting Monday. You are never quite prepared for a big change. Planning a change is encouraging and fun but living the change can be another thing entirely. I always feel as if January is the month of transition and by the time I get transitioned it’s February. This month was only slightly an exception. I have made changes to my schedule and my eating habits. I love vegetables and eating healthy so snacking is not my issue. However, I hate eating breakfast yet I have made strides in that area. My knee injury is improving so I have been able to start working out but not at the level or intensity to really burn through 40 pounds of fat. However, making strides and changes is the first step. I still feel like I am on shaky ground as so much has changed from schooling my kids to knee issues to revamping my schedule and starting a new business. Yet, I am happy to report that I am coming along nicely but just a little slower than I’d like.
Let’s focus on keeping up the momentum or gaining momentum for the next month. Spring is just around the corner and that means soon we will want to wear cute capris and shorts and feel cute in them. While we all know vanity is not the only reason to lose weight it can mean everything when we don’t feel cute. Let’s not fall in that trap.
