End of the Summer Cruise Deals

If you have been house (or office) bound the entire summer now is your chance to break free and set sail on the high seas. Thanks to end of the summer bargains being offered by several cruise lines you can take off on a Labor Day voyage for less than it would cost you to put a week’s worth of gas in your SUV.

Take a look:

LESS THAN $250

Right now Royal Caribbean is offering a three-night Labor Day weekend cruise for just $239 (interior cabins; $254 for oceanview cabins). You can say so long to summer from the powder soft sand beaches of the Bahamas when your ship sets sail on August 29 from Port Canaveral, Florida to Nassau on New Providence Island. You will also make a stop in CocoCay (Little Stirrup Cay).

LESS THAN $300

Carnival is offering major savings on its Labor Day voyage to the Bahamas. Interior cabins for the August 31 excursion aboard the Carnival Sensation start at $289 (that reflects a 66% savings off rack rates). You will depart from Port Canaveral, Florida and head to Freeport on Grand Bahama Island. You will also enjoy a 2-day stop in Nassau before returning to sea.

LESS THAN $400

Carnival has another deal for travelers wanting to depart from the West Coast. Right now a roundtrip Labor Day weekend cruise (4-nights total) from San Diego down the Baja Peninsula is priced at just $379 (a 55% discount off rack rates). Your trip, which departs on August 28, 2008, will take you to Cabo San Lucas and includes 2 full days at sea.

Royal Caribbean is also offering a terrific deal on a three-night sail to Mexico. The voyage departs roundtrip from Los Angeles on August 29, 2008 and heads to Ensenada. The ship cruises from Bahía de Todos Santos (All Saints Bay) back up the Baja California coast on the third day. Oceanview rooms are priced at $399.
