End of the Summer Hotel Deals

Have you taken time off to take your family on vacation this summer? As the new school year creeps closer the hotel industry is trying to entice families to get in that last hurrah by offering spectacular money saving deals on accommodations.

Take a look:

SOUTH CAROLINA

The historic Mills House Hotel, located in downtown Charleston, is offering a “One Tank to Charleston” package deal starting at $420. It includes 3-night’s accommodations; free daily parking; in-room high-speed Internet; and four tickets to one of four museum homes within walking distance of the hotel. As an added bonus you can add a fourth night for just $140 more and you’ll get a $50 American Express Gift Card thrown in. Another extra: Children under 16 eat free at the hotel. The package is available through September 4, from Sunday to Thursday only.

GEORGIA

If you are traveling to the Atlanta area consider taking advantage of this three-day, two-night getaway for a family of four at Stone Mountain Park. The Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort is offering a rate of just $378, which covers lodging at the hotel, daily breakfast for four and two-day Adventure Passes to Stone Mountain Park. If you are only going to be in town for a couple of days you can sign up for the one-night package, which is priced at just $259. In addition to spending time at the park, you can also relax at the lakeside resort’s indoor and outdoor pools or play a round of golf at the hotel’s top-rated courses. The offer expires on September 26, 2008.

OHIO

End the summer with a splash by reserving a room at the Cherry Valley Lodge resort, located 25 miles east of Columbus. The lodging’s “Wild Waterpark Works” travel package allows a family of four the chance to enjoy two nights’ accommodations, four passes to CoCo Key indoor water park good for two days, an outdoor safari at the Wilds wildlife conservation center, and four passes to the Works discovery museum. As if that weren’t enough excitement for one family, the hotel is only 40 miles away from the Midwest’s only zip-line canopy tour. Rates for the package deal start at $194 per room per night or $388 for the two-night package. The deal is only good through October 31, 2008.
