Feeling creative? Need a project that will entertain your family over the holiday break from school? Enter the “Deck the Peeps” contest! Use some of those colorful, marshmallow, candies to create a holiday themed piece of art. You could win a gift certificate and some Peeps that you can eat, (instead of turn into artwork).
Just Born is the name of the company that makes all the varieties of those colorful, sticky, tasty, marshmallow creations called “Peeps”. Most people think of the iconic neon yellow baby chick shaped ones that appear around Easter. However, Just Born makes several varieties of Christmas Peeps, too.
There are some who would rather play with their Peeps than actually eat them. Personally, I have fond memories of putting a Peep onto a plate, putting that plate into a microwave, and carefully orchestrating the timing of things so as to grow the largest Peep possible. It was a creative way to kill time on Easter. Other people would prefer to attempt to make their own, homemade, version of the Peeps marshmallow candies. To each their own.
If you want to play with your Peeps this holiday season, then you should enter the “Deck The Peeps” contest. Go get at least two different Peeps brand Marshmallow candies, and let inspiration strike! Use the Peeps to create a holiday themed sculpture, structure, wall art, craft, or “food creation”.
Send a photo of your amazing, Peep-filled- artwork to the Peeps Facebook page. Do it before January 5, 2011. This contest has two categories that you can enter into: “18 Years of Age and Over Category”, and “Under 18 Years of Age Category”. Kids entering into that category must be at least 13 years old, and have parental permission to enter the contest.
All of the entries will be voted on. Whichever ones get the most votes will be the winners. There are three different prizes you could win. The Third Place Winner will receive a Marshmallow Peeps Candy Prize Pack, (which is worth $50.00).
The Second Place Winner will receive a Peeps & Company Gift Certificate for $50.00, and a Marshmallow Peeps Candy Prize Pack. This prize is worth a total of $100.00. The First Place Prize Winner will receive a Peeps & Company Gift Certificate for $100.00, and a Marshmallow Peeps Candy Prize Pack. That means the First Place Prize is worth $150.00.
