Now that the chaos of the holiday season has ended, many people are probably ready for a nice, relaxing, vacation. If you go to the Popchips Facebook page, you can enter the “Ultimate Vegas Sweepstakes”. Someone will win a three night vegas vacation. Several people will win plenty of Popchips.
Often, I find that the sweepstakes that appear on the Facebook pages of different companies are confusing. This is especially true when two or more companies team up to provide a sweepstakes package. I find myself wondering just how those two, seemingly unrelated, companies decided that they were a logical match for a sweepstakes. It perplexes me.
Such is the case with the “Ultimate Vegas Sweepstakes”. This sweepstakes seems to have combined the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas with the incredibly tasty Popchips snacks. Perhaps Popchips are considered to be more of an indulgence than I realized?
To enter this sweepstakes, you have to start by going to the Popchips Facebook page. Click on the big, red, button, that says “enter now”. This is going to pop up one of those windows that asks you to let it access some of the information on your Facebook page. I think this has become standard practice with sweepstakes and contests that have people enter it through Facebook.
Some lucky person will win a three night stay for two in a VIP Suite at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas. This prize includes ground transportation to and from the McCarran Airport. The winner will also get $250 spa credit, and a $200 dining credit (to be spent at on-property restaurants). The winner also gets two VIP show tickets (for on-property shows), a $1,000 gift card, and two round-trip coach tickets to vegas.
In addition to those prizes, the winner will also get a one-year supply of Popchips. Everyone who enters the “Ultimate Vegas Sweepstakes” will get the chance to win the month’s supply of Popchips.
Obviously, not every single person who enters the sweepstakes is going to win a month’s supply of Popchips. However, absolutely everyone who enters the sweepstakes will receive a coupon that will save you $1.00 on a bag of Popchips.
Now, I’ve tried a few of the varieties of Popchips, and I think they are tasty. They just aren’t the type of food that I would immediately connect with a luxurious three night stay at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas.
This is a perfect example about how Facebook sweepstakes that are a team effort between two companies that sell very different products or services make me a bit confused. I imagine that there must be a really interesting story behind the decision to join Popchips with the Venetian hotel for this sweepstakes!
