Entertaining: A Few Super Bowl Party Tips

Many people that don’t regularly watch professional football still enjoy the Super Bowl. It’s one of the most highly rated sporting events on television. In fact, it has at times been the most highly rated event of any kind on TV. Advertisers spend millions of dollars for mere seconds of time during the biggest game of the year. Sounds like an event deserving of a party!

The NFL Playoffs finish up this weekend, and then we’ll know who’s off to the Super Bowl on February 4. I’m a Chicago Bear’s fan, and if my beloved Bears beat the Saints this Sunday, I may very well be having a Super Bowl Party of my own.

So, where do you start when you want to plan a great Super Bowl Party?

Spare Seating

You certainly already know that you need extra seating for any party. However, keep in mind that you’ll need to provide space and seating that allows each guest to have a good view of the television during a Super Bowl Party. If you’re having a really large party, you may need to set up an extra space with another TV so that everyone can sit comfortably and watch the game. Drag out those beanbag chairs and floor cushions for extra “front row” seating.

Sports Inspired Spills

People get excited while watching a big game, which can and does lead to accidental spills. Consider picking up inexpensive runners or pulling out some throw rugs to place in front of sofas and chairs to protect your flooring from spills or dropped food.

Super Bowl Sippage

Along with great food, you’ll want to serve plenty of refreshing beverages. Even if your icemaker works great, it’s probably a good idea to grab a bag of ice, just in case. Don’t forget to pick up some extra coasters to protect your tables too!
