If you are entertaining guests for Easter, you don’t have much time left to prepare. That’s okay. With some quick, simple ideas, your celebration will look and feel as if you spent hours planning and preparing and no one has to be the wiser.
Perfect Pastel Tablecloths
Maybe you don’t have a tablecloth that exclaims “Easter!” You can make one in no time. Pick up an inexpensive white tablecloth and some water based craft paint in pretty, pastel colors. Thin the paint down with water to a barely there consistency and sponge some color onto the tablecloth. Another option is to place flat lace over the plain tablecloth and sponge on some paint through the design.
For either option, allow paint dry completely. To press, simply cover with an old sheet or towel before ironing and do not use steam.

Cloth Napkins
Pick up some cloth napkins and make the match your tablecloth using one of the methods described above. You can also roll the napkins and tie them with sheer ribbon in pastel colors or make simple napkin rings by using candy as beads. Pick up thin wire or cording and string on any colorful candy that has holes in the center or make “pilot holes” through jelly beans or other chewy candies with a large needle and then string them using a smaller needle. Tie the end tightly and slip over rolled napkins.
Florals and Votives
Instead of using votive candles, fill votive holders with water and add tiny, colorful blooms. Line them up down the center of the table. Fresh flowers add a sense of cheerfulness to any occasion.
*Another option is to fill clear votive holders with colorful glass rocks or pastel beads or candies.
