To clean dry spots on the carpet, such as mud, first vacuum away any loose soil or material. Then, wet the spot with spot cleaner or water and blot it with a clean, white cloth.
Dust wall paper by tying a dust cloth over a broom and dusting from the top of the walls down.
To brighten up yellowing appliances, mix 1/2 cup of bleach, 1/4 cup of baking soda and 4 cups of very warm water. apply the mixture with a sponge and then let it sit on teh appliance for at least 10 minutes. Rinse off throughly and then dry.
Use a dryer sheet to dust your television screen. This will keep the dust from resettingly on the screen due to static electricity.
Spray a little bit of perfume on a light bulb to gently fill the room with a plesant scent when the light is turned on.
Here is an easy trick for cleaning artificial flowers. Pour some salt into a paper bag. Add the artificial flowers, close the bag and shake it. The salt will absorb the dust and dirt!
To remove a water stain from wood, rub the spot with a number 2 steel wool pad and re-wax the floor.
To remove chewing gum from surfaces, cover it with ice until the gum becomes brittle and falls off or crumbles off in pieces. Clean the surface as normal.
Place a few drops of vanilla extract on a cotton ball or pad and place it in the refrigerator to absorb odors and gently scent the refrigerator.
