Exercise Hater’s Unite!

I talk about exercise and fitness here and I’m totally sympathetic to people who are honest in their viewpoint that they hate exercise. Exercise is boring. Exercise is monotonous. Exercise is not what most people want to spend their free time doing, especially when they are busy and they have a million other things to do.

Just because you hate working out doesn’t mean you can’t still make the most of a fitness program while eliminating elements of it that you don’t like. The truth is, if you hate exercise so much – don’t do it. But if your health, your physical presence and how you feel is worth more to you than how much you hate exercise, give one of these tips a try. All it takes is finding something in exercise that you enjoy doing.

  • Leslie Sansone’s “Walk Away the Pounds” is an incredible in home workout and I admit, I’m not a huge fan of these types of workout tapes and I find her infectious and fun! A great addition to anyone’s home workout library
  • Belly dancing classes are popping up everywhere and they combine a fun art form with a cardio workout that really gets your heart going – these classes are definite testament to the idea that exercise doesn’t have to be boring
  • Like technology? Download a personal trainer or use MP3 works available at iTrain or other sites
  • Go for a 15 minute brisk walk three times a day outdoor weather permitting or take a break from your office with a 20 minute walk at lunch every day, don’t worry about the idea that it’s not enough time to be spent working out, because 20 minutes a day 5 days a week is a lot better than nothing – and you can always walk with a friend, a pet or a child or all of the above
  • Mind/Body fitness classes are a great way to rejuvenate the mind, the body and the spirit and they also offer a great workout for your core strength
