Exercises you can start now!

Exercising is hard enough to fit in your day without having to drive to the gym or buy extra equipment. Let’s face it unless you force a new routine a new routine will not occur. Funny thing about routines; in order to become a routine you must do it over and over again until it becomes habit. Habits are notoriously hard to break. Even harder then breaking one is creating a new one. However, once you get past the hard work you will be on your way to improving your life. Starting an exercise routine is one of those life improvement things everyone needs to do. We were meant to be mobile not stagnant on a couch watching life on a screen. I love a good movie and I hate to get into a routine just as much as the next person but sometimes you have to make a commitment to a better life and not a temporary satisfaction. In that spirit, I have decided to think about exercises that you can do without any equipment to buy or gyms to join.

Exercises with no strings attached that you can start today:

Walking: Do not underestimate a good walk. Walking is what your body was designed to do so get out there and walk. Walk your dog, walk your neighbor’s dog, walk yourself just get outside and walk a few miles a few times a week.

Running: Honestly, I hate this option but it is a very healthy exercise that will burn more calories in a shorter time than almost any other exercise.

Crunches and Push ups: Add in a few sets of crunches and push ups in the morning and at night.

Stairs: Climb your stairs, run up and down your stairs, just use them over and over again. A great way to burn calories. You can also do calf raises on your stairs.
