Tiger Woods and his wife Elin have announced that they are expecting their first child later this year. The couple became engaged in November of 2003. Tiger began dating the Swedish model after they were introduced by another golfer, Jesper Parnevik, who had briefly employed Elin as a nanny. The couple married on October 5, 2004 and has homes in Orlando, Wyoming, and Sweden.
Tiger has been busy this year, including winning both the British Open and the PGA Championship. But, he says that he will spend a few weeks at home with his wife before starting his 2007 PGA Tour Season in late January at the Buick Invitational. One regret Tiger has expressed about this otherwise happy event is his father is not around to see it. Earl Woods, whom Tiger has called “my best friend and greatest role model,” died last May of cancer.
Tiger has said he would like to have a boy, then a girl, so she would have a big brother to take care of her. I am sure no matter what they have; he and Elin will be delighted. And now doubt, the rest of the world will be looking for the baby to pick up a golf club as soon as possible.
