Just this month, Nomad Press, released Explorers of the New World: Discover the Golden Age of Exploration. I enjoy the unit studies and books by Nomad Press. I have always found them to be engaging with just the right amount of information for young students. The projects in their books are always fun, engaging and interesting. Explorers of the New World is no exception. I cannot wait to use this unit with my children this school year. If you are studying Explorers this year with your children you may want to consider this book. The age recommendation is accurate but it can be adjusted for younger or older students which makes this great for multi-age lessons. The time period focused on is the 1400s through the 1600s. You and your children will be amazed how the world was changed by the explorers studied. Studying explorers is one of my favorite subjects. Maybe it’s because I love learning how the world is tied together or because I would have loved to be an explorer during that time period. Make sure you have a world map handy in your school room to track all the adventures of these brave men.
