Facebook Party Know How, part 2

Have you considered a group party?

If you do feel your page would not generate enough of a buzz for a party then consider partnering with other businesses to host a party. That will generate exposure for all of you. Have every partner sponsor or seeks sponsors for giveaways to make your party a huge night of giveaways. Did I mention how much party goers love giveaways?

How do you advertise?

Create a buzz about 2 weeks before the party begins. Do not make all your status updates about the impending party or people may grow tired of it. However, you will want to update your status with party information once a day for a week. Change up how you update your status by telling your fans the giveaways being offered or a special surprise party favor. Get them excited about coming and wanting to learn more. Do not bore your fans by only talking about the upcoming party. Continue to update your status with engaging content so your updates about the party are welcome and not old hate. For instance you may want to give the specifics about the party in one update but in another say, “Surprise Party Favors given to all who come!” or “Do you love Wagers Widgets? We do and we are giving them away at our party on….”. Give out personal invitations through email or tagging a business or individual on their Facebook page or wall.

How do you conduct a party?

You will need to have a few people help you out with conducting the party. Guests should be greeted, engaged in conversation and have their questions asked. They need to be given clear and specific instructions on how to enter and win giveaways. Since parties go by so fast you may want someone to handle the giveaways while someone else handles the mingling. You want the party to flow with conversation and without any lag time so your focus needs to be on hosting the event. Most importantly make sure you start on time. The worst thing you can do is have guests arrive without anyone to greet them. Your guests may leave and worse yet complain on their pages. You will also want to end on time. Make it fun yet maintain your professionalism and respect your guests’ time.
