Factors Influencing One’s Level of Education

America is becoming a more educated world. In America’s history, education was not as important as it is today. The focus was mainly put on working the fields and training children to make a living for themselves off of the land.

Today is a much different society. Technology requirements are blooming in almost every occupation. Educational requirements are increasing all across the careers. The percentage of Americans completing higher education is on the rise.

Research has shown that education is linked to success in life. The more education that a child receives, the more successful he or she will become.

Several factors take part when determining how much education a person will receive. The first factor is the parents’ wishes. If a child is raised expecting to graduate from high school and move on to college, the child usually does. The attitude of a child’s parents greatly affects his or her aspirations and goals toward school.

The next determining factor is the individual’s personal aspirations and abilities. In addition to the parents wanting a child to further his or her education, the child must also have the same wishes. In addition, the child must have the academic abilities to succeed in school.

The student’s family financial status also plays a part in determining how much education a child will receive. There are many federal grants available for students who wish to attend college. However not everyone applies for or receives these grants. Financial factors also influence transportation, school supplies, and housing.

Finally, the school helps determine how much education a child receives. Some schools encourage certain groups of students more than others. If a child does not receive the proper encouragement from the education institute, he or she may be more likely to withdraw or dropout. A child that receives encouragement from teachers and school officials will likely remain motivated and continue his or her education career.
