Fad Diets, Crash Diets: Take One (The Egg and Orange Diet)

I am going to get into a little series here in my blog regarding fad diets and crash diets. Although not recommended by physicians, health nuts, nutritionists, etc., some people say that they are good in a pinch for a quick weight loss emergency like going to a party on Saturday and you noticed that the cheesecake you ate the other day has settled in your hip area. Your dilemma: Your dress will not climb past your suddenly rounded derriere. You really do not feel that you have a choice because if you do not lose it your night will be ruined. You will feel awful. Your self-confidence will be at an all time low.

Here is the diet that I have heard some people used back in the day to drop extra pounds quickly:

Breakfast: One egg cooked however you like it. One orange peeled, sectioned, squeezed. It really does not matter as long as it makes its way to your stomach, which is growling like a ferocious wolf.

Lunch: Lunch, well, I hate to disappoint you, but this diet is almost a zero in the variety section. Yes, lunch is a repeat of breakfast. Enjoy.

Dinner: Are you ready for this? Dinner consists of two eggs however you like them. Only one orange again though. Sorry.

Snacks: Your snacks are water, tea, water, coffee, water, and sparkling water.

Well, now you know why this diet works. This diet is intended to last three days or less. This diet is not a healthy choice for a continued weight loss regimen. This diet will not help you to learn how to develop a healthy eating lifestyle. You should get your physician’s approval or at least his okay on this diet as well as any other fad or crash diets before you do them. He or she will not like this diet, but at least find out if you are healthy enough to partake in it for a few days if you choose to do it. I am not an advocate nor am I promoting this or any other fad or crash diet.
